🍒 Fruit: It's Just Not Worth It
Hey friends,
I just learned that a new documentary called “animal.” is premiering in select theaters on June 20th!
“animal. explores how returning to our ancestral roots—a high-fat, meat-based diet—can dramatically transform health.”
Many of the cast members are medical doctors and experts I often feature in this newsletter.
Ashlyn and I plan on seeing it – let me know if you go too! I’ll drop the 2 min trailer below. Otherwise, let’s dive in!

🍓 You May Never Eat Fruit Again – Dr. Eric Berg
My take: Plain and simple, I just don’t think fruit is worth the sugar it contains. But what about fiber, vitamin C, and other nutrients? Well, fiber isn’t necessary (gasp) and other foods have nutrients your body actually needs without the excessive sugar content. Sorry, not sorry!

👩 Hormones After Menopause: My Practical Approach – Dr. Annette Bosworth, MD
My take: This is a long one, and I actually haven’t finished it yet. I’ve just been interested in female hormones since my wife balanced hers out through diet a couple summers ago and reversed infertility.

Some of my favorite content from Twitter and Instagram this week:
There's a very simple reason why red meat is superior to all other types of meat.
The rumen.
It's the ability of ruminants to detoxify and upcycle whatever that gets fed to them.
That's why red meat has the most nutrients, and the fewest toxins.
It's the elite tier.

Former FDA Commissioner David Kessler argues in the @WSJ that the US Dietary Guidelines should have a low-carbohydrate option to fight obesity and diabetes. 👏👏👏
I've been pushing for this since 2015. Time to make it a reality!— Nina Teicholz, PhD (@bigfatsurprise)
